The kanban board is divided into columns, or swim lanes. Each swim lane represents a status of a task.
As you think of tasks to do, add them to your Backlog.
When you’re planning what to do next, move tasks from Backlog to Ready.
Assign each task to whoever should complete the task.
As you start each task, move it to In Progress. Estimate how long you think the task will take.
As you do work, add your work hours, and track the progress of a task.
When you’ve completed the task, move it QA for testing.
If your task is completed and passes QA, move it to Done. Many people change Done to Release to track updates that are ready for public release.
Once it’s completed, move it to Archive.
